PERSONAL INTERVIEW
A personal interview will be arranged at our office to discuss in detail your application, some aspects of our franchising system and details of available sites.
DOCUMENTATION
Following the personal interview we will provide you with a copy of our Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreements. You should read these documents and seek independent advice from your business advisor, solicitor and/or accountant. It is important that you understand the proposed financial and legal commitments involved in the purchase of a franchise.
FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Securing the financing of your franchise comes next. Financial arrangements are not offered by Sportsco to prospective franchise owners.
FRANCHISE AND LICENCE AGREEMENTS
Sportsco will instruct its solicitors to draw up the Franchise Agreements for your franchise. We will need to know the manner in which you will operate the franchise, e.g. Sole Trader, Partnership, Company.
FRANCHISORS OBLIGATIONS
Sportsco's major obligation as franchisor is to give you the full support of our system. This includes access to the trading name and goodwill associated with it, training, merchandising support and group purchasing and advertising.
TRAINING
Every franchisee is required to undergo a minimum of 3 weeks training in the operation of a SPORTSCO store prior to your handover, including customer service, product knowledge, merchandising, point of sale and stock and financial control systems. The training is structured to cover a wide range of subjects that are directly relevant to the running of a retail outlet as well as aspects relating to the sports fashion industry.
SITE SELECTION
Sportsco normally selects sites in community or regional shopping centres. The viability and suitability of these sites is assessed on information available to us. Prospective franchisees are advised to evaluate the site personally.
STORE FIT-OUT
The store fit-out plans will be prepared by Sportsco and built by our shop fitters in accordance with our corporate standards.
PREPARATION FOR OPENING
During the shop fit-out, receipt of opening stock and your first week of trading, Sportsco's field support will be available to you as required.
